Crochet Throwing Runes | Magic Crafting

Materials


5.00mm crochet hook
1 skein of Silk Roving Worsted Weight Yarn in color A - 49 grams
1 skein of Silk Roving Worsted Weight Yarn in color B - 6 grams
Polyfil for stuffing
Yarn needle

For my runes, I’m using Dandelion poof for color A and phenomena for color B!

Abbreviations


CO: Cast on
CH(s): Chain(s)
SC: Single crochet
BO: Bind off

Making the blocks (Make 48)


Co and ch 5
Row 1-5: Ch 1 and turn. sc the row
Row 6: Bo and leave a long tail for sewing

Sewing The Runes

24 of these blocks will be your rune faces and the rest will be the backs. Taking your second color of yarn and your yarn needle, embroider the runes into 24 of the blocks.

Assembly

Sandwich a rune face with a blank block and sew halfway shut using the long tail. Stuff the rune before sewing it the rest of the way shut. You can include herbs or small charms into your runes!
