The Pride Style Guide

Are you ready for pride?! Here at DGY, we’re all so ready to go party! Whether you’re marching in a parade, watching the parade, joining a big dance party, or celebrating quietly at home, we have made a pride style guide to help you come up with a few (c’mon, we love a good outfit change!) amazing outfits to help you express yourself

Before you choose your outfit, remember:

It’s June - in most places, it’s going to be extremely hot! Avoid anything stifling and make sure you bring sunscreen and hydrate! The night before and right before you leave your house, chug some electrolytes and bring some water with you!
Most places will be packed - wear a mask and have a meet-up area with your group. Keep an eye on the people around you in case anyone gets overheated or lost!
You’re gonna be boogying or marching - ya gotta be comfy! Don’t make yourself uncomfortable because of your outfit!

Clothes

Sari Wrap Skirt

These skirts are perfect party wear! They’re also cooling and temperature regulating because they’re made from reclaimed and recycled sari silk material! You can wear them as skits, tops, shawls, dresses and more! This is the king of color, adjustability, and versatility.

Groovy Festival Dress

Personally, I have one of these vests for one of my own pride outfits this year! The sleeveless design is made from a durable woven fabric, and features a striped pattern with fringed hem. The colors are amazing and you can pair your vest with a cute tank to look cool and cute!

Hi everyone, it's kallie from darn good yarn and today i am showing you five ways to wear our reclaimed medley sari scarves. Okay, so first up you guessed it we are wearing the sari scarf as a scarf. There's many ways to wear a scarf, you can put it over your shoulders, wrap it over your neck, double wrap it over your neck- ooh pretty!

Moving on to style number two: hair accessories. Okay so to start off i'm just folding the scarf in half the long way to make it a little thinner and making myself a blindfold oh just kidding! I'm just actually making two knots behind my head, pushing it up and boom you have yourself a cute little patchwork bandana. Oh how cute!

Next I am wrapping the scarf underneath my hair, putting my hair over it, and then pulling up the fabric and tying a knot at the top and then look how satisfying that is! Pulling it tight so it lays in my ponytail. You might want to double knot it so it doesn't slip out or you can always loop it around an elastic that works too.

Alright style number three, not that style number three! We are going with a shawl- oh look how pretty that looks- oh my gosh I need to get over myself. All right, so you can of course just drape it over your shoulders like that, but I'm gonna show you a trick. If you double knot the two ends of the scarf around your wrist like this - look, you can now dance the night away and not worry about your shawl falling off your shoulders!

So style number four, we have a cute little sarong wrap to wear to the beach and look at that I changed up the color of the scarf just to show you all the diversity of colors and patterns that we have!

And for the last look I am just taking the scarf, I fold it in half again like for the hair accessories, and I have wrapped it around my top area. And I am making a double knot in the back to make a cute little bandeau top. I'm just gonna shortly show you one more. What I did was I wrapped the scarf around my back, did a little twist in the front, and tied it around the back of my neck and it makes a cute little top!

I love bralettes! They have saved my sorry butt from heat stroke every Pride. Made from botanicals like rose petals, indigo and marigold petals, this top is sure to make you feel empowered and absolutely beautiful! It’s an intermediate pattern, but it is well worth the work!

Use an old, worn in pair of shorts, or pick some up jeans at your local thrift shop! I absolutely adore my shorts that I made with my old white jean shorts and our rainbow yarn!
