Striped Autumn Beanie | Easy Crochet Tutorial

Materials


3 skeins of Silk Roving Worsted Weight Yarn in 3 different colorways. One colorway has to be black and the other colorway has to be dandelion poof!
4mm crochet hook 
5mm crochet hook
Scissors

Let’s Make A Beanie!

A striped beanie made from white, black, and maroon worsted weight silk yarn

Using your 5mm crochet hook and color A, create a magic ring


Round 1: Ch 2, make 8 dc in circle, join with a slst. Do not turn for any of these rounds! (8)
Round 2: Ch 2, make  2 dc in each st , pull color B through your slst. (16)
Round 3: Ch 2, *make 2 dc in the first st and 1 dc in next st. Repeat from *. Join with slst and pull color C through your slst. (24)
Round 4: Ch 2, *make 2 dc in the first st and 1 dc in next 2 sts. Repeat *. Join with slst and pull color A through your slst (32)
Round 5: Ch 2, *make 2 dc in the first st and 1 dc in next 3 sts. Repeat from *. Join with slst and pull color B through your slst. (40)
Round 6: Ch 2, *make 2 dc in the first st and 1 dc in next 4 sts. Repeat from *. Join with slst and pull color C through your slst (48)
Round 7: Ch 2, *make 2 dc in the first st and 1 dc in next 5 sts. Repeat from *. Join with slst and pull color A through your slst (56)
Round 8: Ch 2, *make 2 dc in the first st and 1 dc in next 6 sts. Repeat from *. Join with slst and pull color B through your slst  (64)
Round 9: Ch 2, *make 2 dc in the first st and 1 dc in next 7 sts. Repeat from *. Join with slst and pull color C through your slst  (72)
Round 10: Ch 2, make 1 dc  in each st around the brim. Join with slst and pull color A through your slst (72)
Round 12-20: Repeat round 10, switching your colors each time to keep up with the striped pattern. On your final round, end with a slst and BO.

Brim Time!


Round 21: On the end of the hat, slst into a st and ch 7 using your 4.0mm crochet hook.
Round 22: SK the 1st CH and BLOSC into each CH down the line. At the end of the row, anchor your row by SLST into the 2 SC of the main body of the beanie
Round 23: Turn your piece so that you will be working up. SK the 2 SLST you made and BLOSC up the row. At the end of the CH, CH 1 and rotate. Before you start to BLOSC down the row, skip the first CH.
Repeat rows 22 and 23 around the whole body of the beanie.
Turn the beanie inside out and SLST using the BLO. BO when finished & weave in your ends.
