Happy Little German Pickle

Materials


Frog amigurumi - Green yarn
3.50mm / E-4 US / 9 UK crochet hook
Scissors
Stuffing
Amigurumi eyes
Yarn needle

Abbreviations


CH(s): Chain(s) 
SC: Single crochet 
DC: Double crochet 
SC2TOG: single crochet 2 stitches together

Pattern


Round 1: Magic ring, ch 1, 8 sc, join to first sc (8)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2sc in each st around, join to first sc (16)
Round 3: Ch 1, *dc, sc, repeat from * around, join to first dc (16)
Round 4:  Ch 1, *sc, dc, repeat from * around, join to first sc (16)
Round 5-17: Repeat alternating between round 3 and 4. (16) 
*In between rounds 6-7, place your eyes in the row
*At the end of round 17, begin stuffing your pickle 
Row 18: Ch 1, sc2tog around, join to first sc (8)
Row 19: Ch 1, sc2tog around, join to first sc (4)
Bind off and weave in your ends.

Pattern


The Star Body
Create a magic ring 
Round 1: Create a mr and ch 1
Round 2: Make 6 sc into your mr (6)
Round 3: Make 2 sc in each st (12)
Round 4: 2 SC in the first st,  sc in next  st. Repeat for the round (18)
The Star Points
Round 5: Sc in next 4 st.
Round 6: Ch 1, turn, sk first st, sc in next 3 sts (3)
Round 7: Ch 1, turn, skip first st, sc in next 2 sts (2)
Round 8: Ch 1, turn, skip first st, sc in next st (1)
Round 9: sc down the side of the star. Slst into the main body of the star.
Repeat rows 5-9 four more times to make all 5 points on your star! 
Bind off and weave in your ends.

Pattern


Round 1: Co and ch 25. At the end of your ch, slst the ends together to create a circle
Round 2: Inside the circle, make 45 dcs.
Round 3: Sk the first st and make 5 hdc into the next st. Sk the next st and make a slst on the next st.
Round 4:  Repeat round 3 around your wreath and bind off and weave in your ends.

Pattern


Round 1: Co with your green yarn and ch 45.
Round 2: In the 4th ch from the hook, make 2 dcs. For the remainder of the sts, create 3 dcs in each st.
Bind off and weave in your ends 
Repeat round 1 and 2 with the white yarn. Twist the two coils around each other and tug to create a long twirling icicle!

*This is when you’re going to want to stuff your ornament 
Round 19: Dec the row (6)
Round 20: Dec the row (3)
Round 21: Snip a long tail and feed your working yarn into your yarn needle. Weave into each st and when you’re done, pull tight like a drawstring. Bo and weave in your ends.
Shape your ornament by rolling it and swishing it between your hands, otherwise it will be a little blocky.

Jingle Bells

MR: Magic ring 
CH(s): Chain(s) 
SC: Single crochet
HDC: Half double crochet
ST(S): Stitch(es)
DC: Double crochet 

Pattern


Round 1: Create a mr and ch 1, leaving a long tail.
Round 2: Make 10 sc into your mr. Do not join
Round 3: Create 2 sc in each st (20)
Round 4-10: Hdc in each st (20)
Round 11: Make 1 sc in the next 2 sts. In the next st, make a hdc and a dc. In the next st, make a dc and a hdc. Repeat this for the round.
Round 12: Sc the round (20)
Round 13: Finish off and weave in your ends, minus the tail of the mr.
Round 14: Pull the tail of the mr through the hole and tie the bell off on that string.
Bind off and weave in your ends. 

Making Them True Ornaments!

For the ornament hook, you can either use the leftover yarn to hang the ornament, or loop a metal ornament hook through it! Whichever you’d prefer! 

For your star, weath, and bell, you may want to spray them with starch to ensure they keep their shape!
