Meet the Pride Yarn Collection - Darn Good Yarn

Meet the Pride Yarn Collection

After months of work, we are proud to present our Pride Hand Dyed Sport Weight Silk Yarn!

This beautiful collection helps us continue on our mission to 'Do Darn Good' by supporting the local LGBTQIA+ Community through partnership with the Pride Center of the Capital Region.
On a yellow background, 5 yarns, each the color of different pride flags, are posing on white blocks.
These yarns were designed to represent some of the beautiful & unique pride flags!
A large purple grid comparing the pride yarn with the flag and name of the matching flag!
Like most of our yarns, the pride collection yarns are all hand-spun & dyed by some of our amazing artisans in India. (Pictured Below!)
Two women are standing in the bright Indian sun, hanging freshly dyed yarn out to dry. The yarn is a mix of different colors: greens, blues, pinks, and more!

Pride Center of the Capital Region
The Pride Center of the Capital Region has been serving our community since 1970 and is the oldest operating LGBTQIA+ center in the country. This center supports and offers life-changing services to the queer people in our community. Some of our own staff have and do use the services provided!
Alyssa of DGY is squatting in a room with a group of queer youths at the Pride Center, teaching the kids how to knit.
We are proud to work with the Pride Center on this line of yarns! 20% of the proceeds of our pride yarn will be donated to the Pride Center! These proceeds will go to supporting their multitude of community support groups, youth services, counseling, medical services, training, education, community events, and their business alliance to help LGBTQIA+ small businesses!
Why Is This Important?
Visibility is important. It’s important that queer people of all ages are seen, validated, and supportive. Darn Good Yarn is a community of fantastic creators and we adore our LGBTQIA+ community members and family! This line of yarn is important to bring attention and love to our community!
