Sari Wrap Skirt — Fit & Height Guide
Because every sari wrap skirt is made from one-of-a-kind reclaimed sari material, sizing isn't just about waist measurement — your height, body shape, and personal style all affect how a length falls. Use the height ranges below alongside the waist and length measurements to pick the best length for you.
Mini Length
The shortest cut — breezy, above-the-knee on most heights
| US Size | Waist | Length | Ideal Height Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| 00–4 | 20"–34" | 19"–21" | 4'10"–5'6" |
| 2–12 | 22"–40" | 19"–21" | 4'10"–5'6" |
| 8–20 | 28"–42" | 19"–21" | 4'10"–5'6" |
| 14–32 | 36"–54" | 28"–30" | 5'2"–6'0"+ |
Note: Size 14–32 runs longer (28"–30") due to proportional cutting, closer to knee-length on most heights in that range.
Tea Length
The in-between — lands around the calf
| US Size | Waist | Length | Ideal Height Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| 00–4 | 20"–34" | 22"–26" | 4'10"–5'4" |
| 2–12 | 22"–40" | 28"–30" | 5'0"–5'8" |
| 8–20 | 28"–42" | 28"–30" | 5'0"–5'8" |
| 14–32 | 36"–54" | 33"–35" | 5'4"–6'2"+ |
Note: Size 14–32 measures 33"–35", landing mid-calf on taller frames within that height range.
Maxi / Ankle Length
The longest cut — maximum coverage and movement
| US Size | Waist | Length | Ideal Height Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| 00–4 | 20"–34" | 28"–32" | 4'10"–5'4" |
| 2–12 | 22"–40" | 32"–34" | 5'0"–5'8" |
| 8–20 | 28"–42" | 32"–34" | 5'0"–5'8" |
| 14–32 | 36"–54" | 36"–40" | 5'4"–6'2"+ |
Note: Size 14–32 measures 36"–40", giving full ankle coverage across a wide height range.
Know Your Fit — Factors Beyond Height
- Where you tie it: Height ranges above assume the skirt is tied at the natural waist. Tying it higher (under the bust) or lower (on the hips) can shift the visible length by roughly 3"–5" — if you're between two ranges, your preferred tie point may help you decide.
- Hip width & body shape: Because this is a wrap style, hip width matters as much as waist size for how it sits and secures. If your hips run larger relative to your waist measurement, size toward the upper end of the waist range for enough fabric to wrap and tuck comfortably.
- Leg-to-torso proportion: Two people of the same height can have very different leg lengths. A midi/tea length that hits the knee on someone with a shorter torso and longer legs may hit mid-calf on someone with a longer torso and shorter legs.
- Personal coverage preference: Some customers want ankle coverage regardless of height; others prefer a breezy, higher hem. Treat these ranges as a helpful starting point, not a strict rule.
Sam's note: if you plan to wear your sari wrap skirt as one of our many versatile dress styles, be sure to pick the length that will reach from your chest to your desired dress length (not your usual skirt length).
