Gauge: 4 x 4 inch dc square - 5 rows and 8 stitches

“Crochet in the chain space:  Instead of working into the chain or stitch, you will work your stitch in the chain space (or around the chains)

Instructions: 

Step 1: ch 4, sl st to the first ch to make a circle, ch 2, dc 8 times into the middle of the circle and sl st to the first dc.

Step 2: ch 2, dc 2 times into each dc, sl st to the fist dc. (16)

Step 3: ch 3, dc in the next stitch, *ch 3, dc in the next stitch, repeat from * 13 more times, ch 3 and sl st to the beginning dc.

Step 4: ch 3, dc in the next ch space, *ch 3, dc in the next ch space, repeat from * 13 more times, ch 3 and sl st into the 2nd chain from the beginning.

Step 5:  ch 3, dc 2 times in the next ch space, * ch 5, dc 2 times in the next ch space, repeat from * 13 more times, ch 5, sl st into the first dc.

Step 6: ch 5, dc in the next ch space, *chain 5, dc in the next ch space, repeat from * 13 more times, ch 2, sl st into the beginning ch 3.

Step 7: ch 2, dc 2 times into the next ch space, * dc 4 times in the next ch space, repeat from * 13 more times, dc 2 times in the next ch space, sl st to the first dc.

Step 8: ch 10, tr in the space after the first 2 dc, * ch 10, tr in the space after the 4 dc, repeat from * 13 more times, ch 10, sl st into the 5th chain from the beginning

Step 9:  ch 2, dc 2 times in the next ch space, *ch 3, dc 6 times in the next ch space, repeat from * 14 more times, sl st into the first dc.

Step 10: Bind off and cut working yarn. Weave in all ends
