If you adventure on to make this knit scarf, brace yourself for lots of compliments. Kalley Reedy, @kneedlesandlove was inspired by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, and we are inspired by this beautiful pattern made from our Darn Good Variegated Thick and Thin Wool Yarn.

MATERIALS

PATTERN NOTES:

  • Finished Project Dimensions:  Approx. 85 in. Long

  • Gauge : 9 rows x 7 sts of knit stitch = 4 in. x 4 in. square

  • Stitch counts per row are in <brackets>

ABBREVIATIONS:

ST(S): Stitch(es)  

K: Knit

KFB: Knit Front and Back

K2TOG: Knit 2 Together


Blue Ridge Blanket Scarf

PATTERN

INCREASE SECTION

Begin: Cast on 3 sts.
Row 1: K across, turn.
Row 2: K1, KFB, K to end, turn.
Repeat: Row 2 until you have a total of 12 stitches on your needle, then start working the body.

BODY SECTION

Row 1: K across, turn.
Repeat: Row 1 until scarf measures approx. 77 inches long.

 

DECREASE SECTION

Row 1: K1, K2TOG, K across, Turn.
Repeat: Row 1 until only 3 stitches remain. Cast off, cut yarn and weave in ends.
