What Does Sustainability Mean?

Sustainability means creating something in a way that can be continuously supported over time. When referring to environmental sustainability, using materials that can be responsibly sourced is a large component of operating an eco-friendly business.

Why Is Sustainability Important?

Sustainability is about creating a system for our way of life in the world that leaves us with a better tomorrow. Without taking sustainability into account, we would inevitably drain our non-renewable resources and society as we know it would suffer. Sustainability is about getting ahead of the curve, and choosing to prevent waste before it builds up to the point of no return. By making better choices now, we won’t be forced to scramble for solutions later.

How Darn Good Yarn Makes Sustainable Clothing

Darn Good Yarn takes recycled materials from textile seconds and repurposes them into gorgeous eco-friendly silk yarn and apparel. This process has saved over two million pounds of materials from landfills. It also provides a sustainable option to buy new clothes that didn’t require new materials to be harvested, creating a low-impact option for feel-good fashion!
