Crochet Wine Bottle Carrier with Hemp

This is an easy tutorial by Amber Blisson Calderón for anyone looking to make a wine bottle carrier with hemp yarn.

Stitches:

Ch(s) = Chain(s)

Dc = Double crochet

Dc2tog = Double crochet 2 together

Sc = Single Crochet

Sl st = Slip stitch

St(s) = Stitches

Materials:

3-ply Hemp
L / 8.00mm hook
Large eyed needle
Scissors

3-Ply Hemp Yarn Shop All Yarn

Step 1: Ch 3, join with sl st to form a ring.

Round 1: [Ch 3, sl st into circle] 6 times. Sl st into the first ch of first ch-3.

Step 2:

Round 2: Sl st around ch 3 space. [Ch 4, sl st around next ch-3 space] 5 times. Ch 4, sl st to first sl st. Sl st in first 2 chs from first ch-4.

Step 3:

Round 3: Sl st around ch-4 space. Ch 1, Sc in same ch-4 space. [Ch 5, sc in next ch-4 space]5 times. Ch 5, sl st to first sc. Sl st in the next 2 chs.

Step 4:

Rounds 4-6: Sl st around ch 5 space. Ch 2, dc, [ch 5, dc2tog in next ch-5 space]5 times. Ch 5, sl st in back loop of first dc. Sl st in next 2 chs.

Round 7: Sl st around ch 5 space. Ch 2, dc, [ch 5, dc2tog in next ch-5 space] 5 times. Ch 5, sl st in first dc. close up of hemp carrier

Step 5:

Round 8: Ch 1, [sc in top of dc, ch 2, sc in ch 4 space, ch 2]6 times. Ch 2, sl st to first sc. Tie off. Weave in ends.

Step 6: Cut 6 - 24” lengths of hemp. Loosely braid 3 strands together to create 2 braided strands. Loop each braid through 2 ch-2 spaces on opposite ends of the carrier. Knot the tops together.
