Welcome back to another edition of Color Swatches For The Soul, where we are taking a closer look at the symbolism of shades, and how to set the mood for your craft projects, fashion, and lifestyle with color psychology! Today we’re looking at Kelly Green.
The Green Family
In color psychology, greens represent health, life, and prosperity! They are the most abundant hue in nature, and are often used in all things eco-friendly and nutritious. As a mixture of joyful yellow and thinking blue, green symbolizes taking the well-thought-out path to long term happiness, and finding a pleasant balance in the long term.
How Kelly Green Sets The Mood
Kelly Green is a slightly yellow-tinted shade of green, giving it a sense of optimism and speed that often brings it to be associated with color with good luck! This shade of green has the know-how of blue, and the right-now of yellow, while a slight desaturation helps it to stay grounded and sure-footed in the moment. Kelley Green is lively, and headed for success one step at a time!
How To Use Kelly Green In Your Craft Projects
Despite being common in nature, Kelly Green can actually be somewhat rare in art, crafts, and decor. It is a very strong and self-assured color, and typically only appeals to people who are brimming with gumption, or interested in building long-term wealth. This wealth doesn’t have to be monetary, but could be in health, relationships, or knowledge, as well!
For this reason, Kelly Green is best used in goal-related craft projects. It can help keep you in the zone when working on an advanced technique, or can be used to create decorations for the areas of your life you want to focus on. Use Kelly Green when you knit a pillow for your office chair to stay fierce at work, or wear a Kelly Green scarf when looking for opportunities in your local community. Kelly Green is also a great color to use when making handmade gifts for people you plan to collaborate with, or when you are building your relationship to a new level!
Color Palettes For Kelly Green
Kelly Green will bring out the expansive nature of the colors near it: the professionalism of black, the curiosity of purple, the bold confidence of orange, the joy of yellows, and so on. It can clash with reds and oranges if they are not substantially lighter or darker. Contrariwise, Kelly Green works well with light pinks, deep purples, and most shades of yellow and blue. Keep in mind, though, when paired with yellow, this shade of green will become very loud!
Use Kelly Green when you want to turn the volume up, and make some serious moves toward your goals!
If you can feel it, there’s a color for it!
