Red Cross partners around the world are working hard to help Ukranians during the war. At this time, almost 5 million people have escaped Ukraine to try and find safety from the Russian invasion. The Red Cross stationed in Ukraine has been hard at work distributing food, clothing, tents, water, medical care, and mental health care all around the country.
Thankfully, their neighbors have stepped up to support Ukraine. Poland, who has sheltered more than 2 million people since the beginning of the war. PRC volunteers have been working for months to provide as much assistance as possible and to warmly welcome the refugees that have arrived.
Darn Good Yarn was looking for a way to support our Ukrainian loved ones and we chose to do so by supporting the Polish Red Cross. Earlier this month, Darn Good Yarn partnered with the Polish Red Cross so that we could help our friends and loved ones in Ukraine. With select products, 5% of the proceeds of those products went directly to the Polish Red Cross.
These funds are going directly to refugees, mostly women and children, for their medical, mental, food, water, and living needs. At this time, we are proud to announce that the DGY community has been able to donate $3,800 to the PRC! These funds are direly needed and much appreciated by our global community.
