Hippie Hemp Coaster Tutorial - Darn Good Yarn

Hippie Hemp Coaster Tutorial

Written by Kate Curry

Looking for a simple and easy crochet project to make with your handmade hemp yarn? Look no further, we have you covered!

Materials

1 ball of Single Ply Hemp Yarn
3.0mm crochet hook
Scissors

Notes

Hemp yarn is hand spun, and some sections of the yarn can be thinner or thicker than the rest. This may cause you to need MORE or less DCs into the original circle in round two. If you need more or less DCs, you can adjust the pattern no problem! Each round will need to increase the rounds by the amount of your original DCs.

Example: If you needed 15 DCs to fill your circle due to the thinness of your yarn, your rounds will look like thisRound 2: 15 DCs into the circle, the rest of the round the same

Round Three: Round is the same - but instead of 24 stitches, you should have 30
Round Four: Round is the same, but instead of 36 stitches, you should have 45
Round Five: Round is the same, but instead of 48 sts, you should have 60
Round Six: Round is the same, but instead of 60 sts, you should have 75.

If your yarn is curling, like mine, you will need to block it out. Use a damp cloth or a water sprayer to wet your work and then stretch it out onto your blocking mats - or even some thick cardboard!
