- (1) Skein of Darn Good Yarn’s Lace Weight Silk Yarn (any color, example is shown in “Watercolors”
- Size F crochet hook (3.75 mm)
- Scissors: to trim ends/tails of yarn
- Yarn needle: to work in any loose ends/tails of yarn
- Stitch marker(s): to keep track of stitch count
STITCH GAUGE:
20 sts (sc) = 4”
STITCH ABBREVIATION LIST:
- sl st: slip stitch
- sc: single crochet
- ch: chain
- dc: double crochet
- trtr: triple crochet
- st: stitch
- sts: stitches
HELPFUL NOTES:
- Use a stitch marker to mark either the first or last stitch of each round when creating the main flower
- Instructions like “2sc” mean “2 single crochet stitches in the same stitch of the previous round”
DIY Crochet Lacy Flower Bookmark Pattern
Part 1: MAIN FLOWER
ROUND 1: ch 3, 2sc in 1st ch, turn to work on opposite (bottom) side of ch and form a round, 2sc, 2sc <6 sts>
ROUND 2: *sc, 2sc*, repeat from * to ** for entire round <9 sts>
ROUND 3: *sc, sc, 2sc**, repeat from * to ** for entire round <12 sts>
ROUND 4: sl st, in next st (dc, ch 2, trtr, ch 2, dc), *sl st, in next st (dc, ch 2, trtr, ch 2, dc) ** repeat from * to ** 4 times (1 st from previous round will be left) <32 sts>
Part 2: TAIL/STREAMER
ROW 1: after finishing last sl st from Round 4, ch 45 <45 sts>
(bottom flower detail) sl st in 5th ch from hook (40th ch), *ch 4, sl st in 5th ch from hook**, repeat from * to ** 3 times <25 sts>
ROW 2: sl st in 39th ch from Row 1, sc in remaining 38 sts, sl st into last sc from Round 3 <41 sts>
