Hemp Fabulous Scarf! Free Knitting Pattern from a Darn Good Yarn Fan – Darn Good Yarn
March 13, 2013
You’re going to LOVE this fabulous hemp scarf. And it’s made with love from a fellow DGYer, Sandra Phillips. All you need is your favorite big size needles (you know what I mean, size 10 or bigger!) and a ball or two of our Natural Hemp Yarn.
She had a ton of excellent comments on her scarf, and I can totally see why! It’s very fabulous:
Here are her pattern notes:
CO 16 stitches.
Knit 2 rows in garter stitch.
3rd row: K2, *yo, k2tog* repeat between * * until last 2 stitches, k2.
Repeat row 3 as many times as you want. When you’re nearing the end of your ball of yarn, knit 2 rows in garter stitch. BO loosely and weave in ends.
There’s a lot of variation you can do with this scarf, so when you make one, take some pictures and send them to our Darn Good assistant, Jen! (jen@darngoodyarn.com)
A quick note about hemp yarn. The first few times you wash and wear it, it’ll be a little stiff. BUT, it will become very soft and pliable after a little while, and you’ll have a gorgeous accessory.
Now, get out there and make a Hemp Fabulous Scarf!

love the lacy look
Great project. Can you tell me the approximate finished width?
I do most of the yarn work for my daughters shop.
She specializes in making poufs, decortor pillows,
throws and lamp shades all upscaled and transfered
into BoHo style of decor. She has a tax ID # and I will
send it when she gets back from her business trip in
Atlanta. She does not know that I have discovered
your site and will fall in love with your recycled silk as
she has used it in her pillow decor and I will forward
her website to you later. So nice to find someone
who does what you do. Will contact you later this week. Mary E Waller
