The Leafhopper Stitch

Size: 6"x6"

Gauge: 4x4 = 15sts x 8 rows

Yarn: 28g or 40yds of DGY worsted weight recycled silk

Crochet Hook Size: 5.00mm

Abbreviations:
CH- Chain

DC: Treble Crochet - YO twice, insert and pull up a loop, *YO, Pull through 2sts* three times

LC: Leaf Cluster Stitch

SK: Skip

STS: Stitches

Notes:
CH 3 counts as first stitch.

Work around the post of the previous row’s last worked stitch. *YO, Draw up a loop, repeat. YO, draw through four loops on the hook* (2 remain). SK1, Repeat ** around the post of the next stitch. YO and pull through all remaining loops on the hook. (Please see video for clarification.)


Pattern:

CH 23

Row 1: Working into the 3rd CH from the hook, DC. Repeat Across. CH 3 and Turn. (21 sts)

Row 2: SK1, *DC, LC, DC in next 3 sts* repeat ** until 5 LC are complete. DC into each of the final 2 sts. CH 3 and turn (5 LCs)

Row 3: SK 1, DC across. CH 3 and turn. (21 sts)

Row 4: SK1, *DC in next 3 sts, LC*, repeat ** until there are 4 LC sts. DC in each of the remaining 4 sts. CH 3 and turn. (4 LCs)

Rows 5-12:Repeat rows 1-4 two more times.

Bind off and weave in ends.
