Stitch Challenge

Double Crochet

Video Tutorial

Swatch Pattern

Begin by working a foundation chain 3 stitches longer than your desired amount of stitches.

Yarn-over.

Find the fourth chain stitch from your hook, this is the chain that you will be working into.

Insert your hook into the top loop of the forth chain stitch from your hook, yarn-over, and pull through. You will now have 3 loops on your crochet hook.

Yarn-over.

Pull through the first two loops on your crochet hook. Two loops will now remain on your hook.

Yarn-over once more.

Pull through the remaining two loops on your hook. You have just completed your first double crochet stitch.

Repeat steps 2-8 into each consecutive stitch across the row until all chain stitches have been worked.

Chain 3 stitches and turn your work.

The 3 chain stitches will account for your first double crochet stitch. Find your second double crochet stitch on your next row, it will appear as the fifth chain from your hook.

Yarn-over.

Insert your needle into both loops of the next double crochet stitch. Yarn- over and pull through. You will have 3 loops on your crochet hook.

Yarn-over and pull through the first two loops.

Yarn-over and pull through the remaining two loops to complete the double crochet stitch.

Repeat steps 12-15 into each consecutive stitch across the row.

You have now completed your second row of double crochet stitches. Work as done on row 2 for each consecutive row.
