Cat, E-Commerce Specialist

I joined the DGY team this past February. Since graduating college in 2016, I have had a couple different careers paths that ultimately lead me to where I am today. I first started out as an Events Assistant for a Live Events company in NYC. I ran around the city helping with pop-ups, music festivals, store openings and Galas. After doing that for a year I decided I wanted to give Boston, MA a try. I got a job doing marketing for a mall in Cambridge. While I worked there for four years I was inspired by some of the mom + pop retailers to start my own online clothing business. In Summer 2020 I started an online thrift boutique. This past Fall, I moved back to my hometown to be closer to family and I was happy to find DGY, a small business that supported my ideals and love for fun clothing!

1. What about the mission of Darn Good Yarn hits home for you and why?

I was really inspired to join the DGY team because not only was it founded by a woman but it also focuses on employment for women across the world. I also love that it stands for sustainability. As an avid thrifter/vintage clothing lover, I’m happy knowing that the things I wear are doing good for the world.

2. What kind of crafting are you into? How did you learn? ("Crafting" in the broad sense, anything you make or do that's creative or fun)

Back in college I took a fashion sketching course and since then I have continued to do it for fun. I don’t consider myself too crafty but I also love a good DIY furniture refurbishment project.

3. What's your favorite Darn Good Yarn product and why?

My favorite DGY product would have to be the Sari Wrap Skirts. I love that they are all one of a kind and have their own story to tell with the different colors + patterns.
