Free 86er Sari Chiffon Scarf Knit Pattern from a DGY Fan! – Darn Good Yarn

May 1, 2013

Darn Good Yarner, Lori, submitted this pattern to us…and it’s gorgeous! Seriously. And it’s simplicity at its finest. When you have fabulous yarn, show it off. And that’s exactly what Lori did!

Silk Chiffon Scarf

She took some big old needles, size US 19, cast on 6 stitches, and just knit every row…until she got to a whopping 86 inches! O.M.G. I love scarves that you can wrap around your neck 4 or 5 times. Lori made this scarf by knitting with various skeins of our Sari Chiffon Ribbon. You could certainly get 3 or 4 new skeins if your DGY stash is running low too.

Doesn’t she look fabulous? I love her color choices. This scarf would also make a great gift to a BFF–you’d have one and your friend would have a similar one!

Just as a quick note about long scarves. If you find the ends flaring out and the middle getting too skinny, you can always increase a couple of stitches about 12 inches from the cast one edge, and decrease the same number of stitches 12 inches before the bind off edge. That should keep the scarf looking rectangular.

Are you making this scarf too? If so, send pictures to the Darn Good Assistant, Jen (jen@darngoodyarn.com), and we’ll post them up for everyone to drool over. :) Thanks again Lori!

I love the scarf that Lori made, “86er” using the sari ribbon. About how many skeins would I need for this project? Thanks, Rena
