Another way to make an ear-flap hat

January 22, 2011

Happy weekend!

Finally a weekend where my DH has off for both days. This has allowed us to hang out and it brought me to surfing around facebook for a little bit in attempt to downshift a tad.

But my surfing proved fruitful when I was on Chriss’s page (she’s the awesome woman that makes most of the crochet patterns you see at Darn Good Yarn).Check out her Etsy store and blog at these links:

I came across this picture that she took of a hat she made out of my Yo-Yo Diet Yarn (click here to check out the yarn) In case you don’t know, the Yo-Yo Diet is a thick and thin wool yarn that is super versatile. I found out quite by accident that it is also perfectly fine for not only the washer but the dryer too (whoops!).

Pretty awesome huh? It would look so cool at the slopes. Note, I didn’t say on the slopes because you should be wearing a helmet.

So, I asked Chriss about this hat and she said, “You can actually make this hat will the Sari silk Earflap hat pattern…… :)

With that, it’s about time I re-introduce that great pattern, please click here to view it.

Very cool don’t you think?

I hope you enjoy and happy crafting!

xoxo
