A Fabulous Free E-Reader Knitting Pattern – Darn Good Yarn
May 12, 2013
When you get your new e-reader, you start looking for a great holder to keep it safe and scratch free. (Or, maybe you bought a fabulous holder and then bought the e-reader). One of our Darn Good Yarners, Anne Daniels, took one of our free patterns and turned it into a fabulous case to hold her kindle.
Remember the DGY Pattern A Home for my Sunnies? Anne simply doubled the cast on stitches and continued in the pattern in that same vein. If you’re going to make a case for your specific e-reader, make sure you measure it and knit your case about 1/2 inch longer than that. You could probably get just 1 hank of yarn, just like you can with the original pattern.
A lining isn’t super necessary, but it does add a nice change of texture. This would be a great use for the Mini Reclaimed Sari Scarves, and you could make several cases–one for each family member.
I’m loving how this project turned out! And it’s great to see how creative you all are. Will you be making an e-reader case now too? These would also make perfect gifts.
