Hi there! My name is Laura Coffey and my business is Bobby Raven Designs. I have been an artist all my life. Even as a child, I took to every fiber craft I could find. In recent years I have started selling my fiber arts and am finding a market for my unique and funky work. I love, love, love color and texture and it is the focus of my art. Anything bright and colorful inspires me. The colors and subtleties of nature are also often an inspiration.
I work mostly with natural fibers and with lots of different wools. I really get into trying all sorts of exotic fibers from llama and alpaca to silk and bamboo. That is how I discovered Nicole and Darn Good Yarn. I incorporate her sari silk into my work by spinning it with wool or alpaca to create a fun and funky yarn, which is my most popular product. Other yarns mix llama and bamboo, and I am looking forward to adding banana silk next. I hand dye many of my own fibers and combine them into batts for spinning, various unique handspun yarns, and felted scarves. I also sell hand painted 100% silk scarves. My newest avenue is creating aromatic therapy pillows using natural products such as lavender, rice, and corn. These pillows can be heated and cooled for therapy purposes and I can create them in any size, fabric or color. I love doing custom work. You can visit me at www.etsy.com/shop/bobbyraven
